Not so good Sunday.

I got my report for the weekend from Mom on Sunday about mid day. We went to lunch together after church. But last night the phone rang at 10pm, (which is rare unless it it the hospital calling for Ray), and it was Mom. She spoke with Ray, and said Dad was so bloated that he was having a hard time bending over, and was very uncomfortable. She said Dad had not had a very good day, just feeling lousy. They are coming in to see Ray this morning and see what direction they need to take. Pray for Dad and his swollen abdomen. Pray for wisdom for treatment. If this is something that will get better with time, or if there is something that they can actively do. Pray for his bowels, that they will begin to respond normally again. Pray also for Mom, as she goes through highs and lows with Dad, and wants to continue to be up and be his support through all of this.
Over the last few days, she has been put in contact with a few other survivors of this type of cancer and surgery, but none of them have had the complications like Dad has. This has been a little discouraging. Thank you again for all your love and concern for Dad and Mom.
Praying with you all, JJ

Mike and Jan, I am so sorry. I just recently found out about Mike, and then read JJ's blog. What a great way to keep people informed. JJ is quite an amazing daughter! (but of course you already knew that!:) Ron has just been diagnosed with throat cancer. We go have CAT and PET scans this week to find out more. Your journey gives me hope and encouragement that we can get through anything with faith and God's love. I'm keeping you and your family in my prayers. Love you all, Debbie & Ron Burkett
