First Test Down and a Little Good News.

(This is "Buddy" with his two youngest recruits to Team Janszen, Ryder Rutledge (Jamie's baby), and Joshua Ford (J.J.'s baby). They are both 2 years old and this was at Thanksgiving.)
"Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:28-31

My friend sent this to me today to remind me of Who is in charge and how we may grow weary and tire of waiting, but He will renew us, renew Dad and Mom. Praise God, He is good all the time.

A quick update for today's test, the EUS. Dad had it done today, all went well. We were encouraged that the Dr. said the cancer is a 2 in most places and a 3 in some places. The lymph node is also infected, but the Dr. sounded encouraged that it is not an advanced stage 3 as we thought. Yes, still a stage 3 in some parts of the tumor, but not so advanced. They feel it is very treatable. Praise God for that. Dad will have a Pulmonary test tom., then meet with all the oncologists at MDA on Thurs. Thursday will be a big day. We need much prayer for wisdom and clear leading. They will be presented with MDA's protocol and then will need to make a decision as to where to receive Dad's treatment. Please pray for no confusion, for clear leading for both Mom and Dad, that they can be in agreement about this decision. Pray for peace in the waiting the next few days, and also pray for speed to get treatment started soon. Dad had a bad choking episode Saturday night, where he choked for 2 hours. The Dr. today said he had a 70 percent blockage, so no wonder he is having trouble swallowing. So the sooner the better that we start attacking this thing. Thank you for so many of you praying and joining this fight with us. We could not do it without your prayers. May God be glorified throughout this whole process. He is good!!

JJ and kids,

We appreciate these updates. What an encouragement today's scripture was to me! We are praying daily for all of you and I check this blog frequently for updates, so thank you for taking the time to keep us informed as I know you are all so busy. You can count on our prayers Thursday... We will be lifting all of you up and asking for clarity and wisdom as a treatment plan and place is decided.

Jeremiah 32:17
"Ah Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you."

Praying with you,
Kristin (for Anthony too)

"Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up..."
James 5:14 and 15

I know this verse refers to spiritual sickness but God commands us to pray in faith and in the name of the Lord - always. We are CONTINUALLY lifting you you up in FAITH and in HIS NAME, confident in GOD's ability to HEAL and make all things NEW again! We love you!

Mike,
Hey, you tough ole' Peckerwood. This is a time our minds will race with anxiety. When will this happen? What exactly is going on? Whats next? ..........etc. Remember, all you have to do is let go, and let the great physician take over. As he says, "Be still and KNOW that I am GOD." You have always been that take charge type and a great inspiration to me. Now, sit back and relax Pal, God is already at work on you. He will be Glorified. BELIEVE IT.

We love you,

Tim, Gwen and (two children that pray specifically for you twice a day)

Thanks JJ for taking the time to put these updates out for us. We have been out of pocket for 4 days and were anxious to hear any new news from your dad. Praise God the cancer is not as advanced as previously thought. We will certainly pray for wisdom and clarity for all parties involved.

Much love to all from Jim and Micah
