In New Braunfuls

Mom and Dad drove down to Jamie's house last night to see them for the weekend, then on to Houston on Sunday. When I spoke with Mom yesterday on their way down, she told me that out of 1-10, Dad woke up feeling like a 1. She said he had no energy, and just loading the bags into the car for their trip, he was out of breath, and exhausted. This was so discouraging to Dad. He has lost so much weight, and has no reserves, no muscle either, to keep himself going. On their way down, he said he was feeling a little better, maybe a 5 or 6.
They are planning on asking the drs., while in Houston, if there is anything else they can be doing or Dad can be taking to increase his energy level, and to increase his appetite. Pray for wisdom and guidance from the Drs. and also attentiveness to Dad's specific needs from them as well. They are going to Raylee's soccer game today, she was very excited about having Babe and Buddy there!!
Keep praying, this challenge is definitely not over yet. Dad has a long way to go before he will feel like his old self again. Thank you for hanging in there with us. This is a long term commitment you have made to check in on Dad and to continue to lift him up. We are grateful from the bottom of our hearts.
In His amazing love, JJ

Oh J,

It is so hard to read that Mike is frail, and week. I know this is hard for all of you. I know in my heart of hearts that God is going to deliver him. This temporary season seems like a lifetime. I am praying for an expeditious change (for the better) that last for more than a day. I am praying that God gives all of you what you need to continue to encourage your dad. I will pray for his appetite. Between us all we can help fatten him up in no time. I am giving thanks today for the Janszen family.
Love to all Cindy

Jan and Mike,

We are always thinking of you and continue to lift you up in prayer. We care so much for you as you walk through this long road to full recovery. Praying strength, appetite and extra doses of energy for Mike this week & very day. AND of course strength, peace and rest for you too Jan, as you continue to care for your man! Know that you are often in our thoughts, conversation and most definitely our prayers.

Love,
Kristin and Anthony

Lord, we know Mike and Jan are beyond exhaustion from dealing with this cancer battle, difficult surgery & road to recovery. We know their children & grandchildren are in constant communication with You for their loved ones. And so many others are in this battle with them for You have called us to the frontlines to pray. It is our desire, Lord, that Mike's health...his strength, energy and appetite be restored. You know exactly what those needs are. Please provide clear answers & solutions tomorrow as they meet with their doctors. Make these doctor's wiser, sharper and more on the ball than they've ever been before. Lord...hand them a prescription written from Your righteous right hand!
We'll keep praying, believing and trusting that these lingering difficulties will soon be a part of the past. Make it soon, Father.
In your Son's name we pray.

How blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob,
Whose hope is in the LORD his God, who made heaven and earth, the sea and all that is in them; Who keeps faith forever...Psalm 146:5-6

Psalm 9:10 Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you.
